Busy is the most common reason a call goes unanswered

Most small businesses miss calls for a plain reason: someone is already on the phone, or working with their hands. The second call rings out to voicemail, and the third caller never leaves a message.

Overflow answering fixes that without giving up your phone. It uses your carrier's conditional forwarding: the call rings you first, and if you're busy or don't pick up, it moves to Wenly.

How it works

What happens, step by step

  1. Turn on conditional forwarding

One dial code from your phone sets 'forward if busy or no answer' to your Wenly number. We send the exact codes for your carrier.

  2. You keep answering first

Calls you take are yours. Wenly never hears them.

  3. Wenly catches the rest

If you're on another call or you don't pick up, the call moves to Wenly, which answers in your company's name.

  4. The lead arrives in 30 seconds

You see who called and why on your phone, and you call back when you're free.

What you receive

  • An email within 30 seconds for every call Wenly answers
  • The caller's name, number, address and the reason for the call
  • A one-tap callback
  • A weekly report of the calls that would have gone to voicemail

Starter plan. Overflow answering is in every plan.

What it does and doesn't do

  • How many rings before a call forwards is your carrier's setting, not Wenly's. If it feels too short or too long, we'll help you ask your carrier to change it.
  • Wenly never interrupts a call you're on.
  • Forwarding codes differ by carrier and plan, so we confirm yours at setup and ask you to make a test call.

Common questions

How many rings until it forwards?

That's your carrier's setting. Verizon, for example, describes forwarding after three or four rings. Ask us and we'll help you check it on your line.

What if two calls come in at once?

Wenly can take more than one call at a time, so a second caller doesn't reach voicemail.

Will my customers know their call was forwarded?

They hear your company's name in the greeting, and that the call is answered automatically and may be recorded. They aren't told it was forwarded.

Does this work with a landline?

Usually yes. Most landline and VoIP providers offer forward-on-busy and forward-on-no-answer. We'll find the right setting with you.

Hear it answer. Then start free.

On business plans: If we don't catch at least 10 leads you'd have missed in your first 30 days, you don't pay.

Have it call you

Your phone rings. It answers as your business.
